Just as consumers in the United States wonder how they will pay the soaring cost of prescription drugs, along comes a helping hand from our neighbor to the north: Canada.

Canadian Pharmacies Making Big Push

Canadian pharmacies are now passing along savings -- big savings of 50 percent to 88 percent -- off the cost of many generic drugs.

Most of the larger pharmacies are now advertising on the Internet, according to the 10News Troubleshooter.

Prices are lower in Canada because the government negotiates prices with drug companies. And drug companies selling into Canada are not allowed to advertise their products.
